The Peninsula Paris Peninsula Academy

Meticulously designed to give our guests unique and unprecedented access to historical, cultural and local lifestyle experiences in each Peninsula destination, The Peninsula Academy offers a collection of bespoke programmes for both adults and children. With the perfect balance of lifestyle and culture, The Peninsula Paris’ Academy gives exclusive access to some of the city’s most fascinating locations and cultural gems.

Academy PROGRAMME

  • Tailored especially for younger members of the family, or a special mother and daughter experience, this programme takes you on a journey of one of the five senses – that of “the nose” – which in French means “an expert maker of perfume”. France has always been known for its expertise in the creation of exquisite and luxurious scents. Through this Peninsula Academy experience, you will learn how to select all the right ingredients to blend your own unique scent, in almost the same way that Coco Chanel created her famed No. 5 perfume many years ago.
To make things even more fragrant, the perfume-making experience is combined with a special soap-making class at The Peninsula Spa, to create long-lasting memories of your visit.

This unique combination of classes offers “budding noses” the opportunity to create a totally unique gift from Paris, or just simply something beautiful to remember it by.

    • This evocative sensory journey, perfect for mother and daughter, takes you through the art of perfume and/or soap-making. The experience begins at The Peninsula Spa, where you will learn to make your own special red fruit soap or melon and lemon sparkling bath ball with the help of an expert, using all the right tools, powders, scents and colours, as guided by an expert.
    • Whilst the girls are making their Peninsula-themed soaps, Mothers can also participate, or learn more about what delights The Peninsula Spa can offer for relaxation.
    • The olefactory experience also offers a consultation with a professional “nose” (perfume maker) in your Suite, where you will be guided through the process of cleverly and sensitively combining ingredients to create a bespoke scent of your preference to either keep or to bring back to a loved one at home.
These experiences are offered separately or together, according to preference.

    • A Royal Journey

The Palace of Versailles is the central part of a complex that housed the French government, most notably its royalty, during the reigns of Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI from 1682 until 1789. After the French Revolution, it ceased to be a permanent royal residence, however the Palace remained and was converted to a museum in the mid-19th Century.
Commence your journey in royal fashion, by arriving via Rolls Royce at the Palace situated just 16 kilometres southwest of Paris.

  • This programme offers a unique way to see some of the most fascinating and beautiful parts of Paris through a fun-filled game of investigation that is based around following a series of clues placed at different locations around the city. It’s almost like playing the role of the fictional character Inspector Jacques Clouseau from the famed ‘Pink Panther’ series, who was known as France’s greatest detective, but who was only able to solve a case through a series of bizarre accidents!

Of course, an Inspector always needs a smart assistant, so a professional guide will help lead participants to the locations of the clues, which could lie anywhere from the fashionable neighbourhood of Saint-Sulpice to the scenic greenery of the Jardin du Luxembourg. And as with every good detective, whoever solves the mystery will win a special Peninsula prize for their efforts.

    • Your mystery-solving assistant/guide will meet you at a secret rendezvous point at The Peninsula where you will discuss your mission and the best route towards finding all the clues. • From there, the case could go anywhere from the nearby Trocadéro district to the Luxembourg Gardens, which has 106 statues spread throughout its grounds, or even the charming neighbourhood of Saint-Sulpice, home of the famous Baroque church of the same name. In fact, this activity takes in many of the city’s most iconic sights and locations.
This fun and family-oriented programme will have everyone competing against each other – in a friendly manner of course – and whoever solves the mystery will win a special prize upon return to The Peninsula.
