The Peninsula Paris is celebrating Chinese New Year in total splendour.
Within its gastronomic Cantonese restaurant, Chef Ma is bringing his full expertise into play on two special menus to offer the very best of Chinese cuisine. With a Chinese New Year’s Eve menu called “Eight Flavours of the Peony Pavilion” consisting of eight courses, a number that is said to bring good fortune in China; and also a lucky-number, six-course “Tasting Menu”, Chef Ma reveals authentic Cantonese dishes that are full of flavour.
From 21 January to 5 February LiLi is being transformed into a veritable theatre stage, lifting the curtain on its “Splendour of Chinese Opera” display, rich with costumes in shimmering colours, adorned with delicate embroidery and featuring sculpted headdresses, as well as photographic works highlighting the mysterious and refined aesthetics of Chinese opera.
In order to celebrate Chinese New Year’s Eve with a flourish, there will be a special programme for guests to enjoy on the evening of 27 January: a traditional Water Sleeve dance display associated with Chinese theatre that is both poetic and dreamlike, followed by an all-essential lion dance, allowing diners to spend an evening immersed in the world of the Celestial Empire.
The Peninsula Spa will be welcoming Chinese clientele with an exclusive haircare treatment from the Biologique Recherche brand, a true ambassador for expert, tailor-made treatments. A specialist hairdresser, straight from the Paris catwalks, will also be on hand to offer advice and a bespoke cut – a unique opportunity to celebrate the festive season in total elegance.
The Peninsula Paris is joining forces with Le Printemps to offer its Chinese clients an elegant and exclusively Parisian shopping spree. Guests will be escorted by a dedicated chauffeur to the intimate atmosphere of the legendary department store’s private lounge, where a Chinese-speaking expert stylist will introduce them to limited editions and unique pieces by the most sought-after Parisian designers of the moment. Having indulged in a unique shopping experience accompanied by a glass of champagne, they will also benefit from an express tax deduction service.
